The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) recognized Shrewsbury resident Nandana I. Kansra as one of this year Unsung Heroines.

Kansra is an internal doctor of medicine with Saint Vincent Medical Group in Shrewsbury, a weekly volunteer at St. Anne’s Parish free Medical Clinic, and has traveled to Haiti and Guatemala to provide health services to people in critical need. She was recommended for the award by Shrewsbury State Representative, Hannah Kane.

According to MCSW, the “Unsung Heroines are women who use their time, talent, and enthusiasm to enrich the lives of others and make a difference in their neighborhoods, cities, and towns.” The recognition was delivered during the 16th Annual Unsung Heroines celebration at the State House on June 18th, 2019.
